Shafts, say what you will about the big head drivers, square head drivers Moment of Inertia and Coefficient of Restitution. WOW! They don’t mean much without the engine that powers the clubhead to the ball. The shaft.

Not long ago the shaft was akin to a six-cylinder Kia Rio. That is, it got the clubhead to the point of impact, but without much glamour.Austads.com - Name Brand Golf for Less

The shafts of today, particularly those used by the PGA TOUR players, are more like Ferraris. Shafts such as Fujikurus Rombux, AldilasNV, Proforce V2 and others are 12 cylinders-okay, more like 55 to 65 grams of high octane power that help players dial in their shots as much as a driver with high Moment of Inertia and a high launch, low spin ball.

A lot of PGA TOUR players will go from driver model to driver model but use the same shaft. The same shaft, perhaps but not always the same flex scenario. The most significant thing that different models have is different bore depths. That’s  important because it changes the stiffness of the golf shafts. The bottom line is that the shaft and clubhead have to work together to assure optimum performance from each. You can have a great shaft in a bad head and get a bad club. Or you can have a bad shaft and a good head and get a bad club.
IN THE HOLE! Golf

The Synergy between shafts and head has always been relevant, but even more so these days as clubheads-metal woods and irons-have become more complex in design.
High MOI drivers aren’t the only clubs being fine tuned by high-tech shafts. Hybrid clubs, which have become staples in the bags of PGA TOUR players and the average players alike, also feature shafts made specifically for them.

The designs are meant to optimize performance with those clubs, but different things have to be considered. One is shorter length; two is that with the shorter length you’re not going to just take a 65 gram driver shaft and cut it down. You’re going to want a shaft that starts with a heavier weight. That’s why hybrid shafts, on average, are 15 to 20 grams heavier than a comparable driver shaft.
Shafts, as you can see, needs a lot of thought for getting the right shaft for the right clubhead.  You need to make sure that the shaft is right for you, so that you get the best out of your clubhead for your swing speed. So make sure you get the right Shaft! golfoutletsusa.com
