This is the Wedge

Posted On 2010-03-29 , 6:10 PM

If you know Cleveland Golf you probable know them for their wedge, the # 1 wedge in golf. There has been a lot of talk about the grooves...and rules. There's also a lot of talk about their new CG15 wedge with its Laser Milled face and patented ZIP Grooves. These grooves have the maximum dimensions allowed under the rules of golf and can be played legally by the vast majority of golfers until 2024.
Still, at the end of the year, they will be required to stop producing the CG15 with these grooves. These truly are the ultimate grooves, and this truly is our last chance to get them. Sounds like it has the grooves of the Ping i2 wedges. But whether you think you need them or not. I encourage you to replace your current wedge set for maximum legal performance. This is the year, and this is the wedge.

The compact shaped head encourages shot making; customization really works, allowing the player to dial in their best shots. Tiger Woods and Records

Posted On 2010-03-22 , 9:09 AM

Woods has been a tournament golfer in one form or another since he was a young child. We will turn 35 in2010 and has had many surgeries on his left knee, including a complete reconstruction two years ago. Long before the recent revelations chapter in his life, Woods' golf was scrutinized more keenly than any player in history, and that intensity surely isn't going to wane anytime soon. Every time he misses a short putt, someone is going to see it as a sign that he is not what he use to be. Less exposure could equal more satisfaction.
Sponsorship obligations and financial motivation not withstanding, if winning five more majors to break Nicklaus' record of 18 indeed is what matters most, Woods could pare his schedule and get the record. Over the next 10 years, if woods played a schedule the includes the four major championships and the four other events, he would play 80 events in that decade and need to win "only" one major every 3 years to break Nicklaus' major mark. To eclipse Sam Snead's all-time record of 82 PGA Tour victories, Woods would need to pick up seven more wins.
Following his unexpected leave, the quality of Tigers' golf may not change that much as the quantity.

Tiger Woods at The Masters

Posted On 2010-03-18 , 1:51 PM

Without question, Tiger Woods at Augusta will be must-see TV, but it comes with strings attached. For every hour od two of the tournament on television, showing the world's best player against those snow-white bunkers and pink-and-violet azaleas, we'll get another 20 or more hours of commentary on MS, ESPN, BCN, NBS,  a dozen New York Post covers and maybe another Howard Stern beauty pageant. I'm as bad an offender as anybody. I've already set the DVR for the Tiger Woods South Park, and I'll be talking and writing about Woods right up until his Thursday tee time. Really, how can you not talk about him? Instead of easing himself back into public life and competitive golf, the biggest star in the biggest story is returning to the game at the biggest tournament. Say what you want about Woods, but he hasn't lost his feel for the dramatic. He'll be there along with most of the world to watch the greatest golfer in the world!
